Welcome
Welcome to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice Provost. At The University of Alabama, students’ experiences within the classroom come under the auspices of the Division of Academic Affairs, which oversees academic programs and services, many of which are nationally-recognized. We are proud of the outstanding educational experience students receive from our faculty, and we value the way “education” is expanded and enriched by opportunities offered within the Division of Student Affairs. Numerous and varied co-curricular experiences maximize each student’s learning experience, from leadership opportunities to volunteerism, from recreation to on-campus living, and more.
While the vibrant campus community in Tuscaloosa offers students an abundance of opportunities, we recognize that students also benefit from leaving the UA campus for other campuses, states, and nations. This year, we are emphasizing UA AWAY, students’ opportunities to leave campus to work, study, or serve. Study Away offers students the ability to study abroad or at another American university through the National Student Exchange. Serve Away takes students across the country for volunteer service. Work Away gives students coop and internship experiences away from campus. We know that students will have a richer college career for the opportunities they have in UA AWAY, and the University will benefit from the knowledge that students bring back to our campus.
I hope that you will explore these Web sites to learn more about the unique opportunities that exist for students, faculty, and staff through the Division of Academic Affairs and the Division of Student Affairs.
